Completely optional history and personality section. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO SKIP THIS!:

Please list and explain the three worst (morally) things your character has ever done:
Gajeel:
1) Beat and tortured Fairy Tail wizard Lucy Heartfilia, bolting her to a wall and throwing knives to barely miss her.
2) Violently abducted Lucy. beating her bodyguards so severely he was unsure whether or not they'd survive.
3) Ambushed, beat, and (non-lethally) crucified Fairy Tail's Team Shadow Gear, a group that specialized in arcane linguistics rather than combat.

Lily:
1) Defended a weapon that was meant for use in genocide against his own people.
2) Hunted and, most likely, killed users of magic while the capital hoarded magical energy for its own use.
3) Assisted in the kidnapping of an entire town's worth of people, with the intent to convert their life force into magical energy.

Please list and explain the three best (morally) things your character has ever done.:
Gajeel:
4) Put his life at risk, multiple times, for the sake of protecting the guild Fairy Tail after joining it.
5) Returned to one of his childhood homes and faced betrayal by an old friend to root out a drug trafficking ring and, in the process, brought the city's major criminal gangs to heel.
6) Spent a year working with the magical oversight Council to find and capture rogue wizards who used magic to harm the public.
Lily:
4) Rescued and cared for an injured human child, despite his culture asserting that humans are uniformly worthless and dangerous.
5) Joined the effort to prevent the destruction of his people.
6) Rushed miles out to sea to protect his guildmates after noticing discrepencies that pointed toward an infiltrator in their midst.

Please put the six things above on a timeline relevant to each other:

Do you consider your character a hero, an anti-hero, a good aligned side kick, a bystander, a victim, a fence sitter, a mercenary, an evil aligned side kick, a villain, or something else? Why?:
Gajeel is an anti-hero, having gained hope for and faith in humanity after growing up cynical and hate filled. Despite softening dramatically from finding a place that truly supported him and showed him what it meant to love, he remains short-tempered and sometimes mean spirited, as well as gleefully underhanded and even vicious at times. On occasion, he has even taken advantage of his formerly cold-hearted reputation to lull true villains into a false sense of security, leaving them to think he would have no qualms in aiding them with vile schemes so long as he stood to gain from them himself. At the end of the day, however, his violent misanthropy has faded to show a foundation in a strong sense of justice, and while his means might sometimes be too brutal or dirty for most heroes' liking, he consistently saves his malice for those who willingly do evil.

Panther Lily is a good aligned sidekick, namely Gajeel's. It was at Gajeel's invitation that he joined Fairy Tail in the first place, cementing an unspoken tradition of all true Dragonslayers having a partner of his species. Since joining, he has been routinely at Gajeel's side, offering the wisdom of his greater years while remaining in a support role due to his limited ability to remain at human size, instead spending most of his time no larger than a typical housecat.

Do you think your character should start on the Isle or in Auradon? Why?:
Honestly, strong arguments could be made for either. Gajeel has gone from being a killer for hire and one of the most actively cruel and malicious antagonists Fairy Tail has encountered, to being one of the guild's most proactively helpful and compassionate members. Overall, however, his pragmatic and ruthlessly practical attitude combined with his violent, sometimes even sadistic, tendencies mean he's far more likely to fit in on the Isle, compared to on the pristine streets of Auradon.
Which of those two would you prefer your character to start in?:
Isle!

Are you still interested in having this character in this game at this time if that preference is not met?:
Yep, even if there wasn't a chance to swap coming up.
Powers and Abilities:
Gajeel:
Gajeel is a wizard, which in the world of Fairy Tail is a term used to describe anyone trained to sense and build up a store of magical energy. His particular brand of wizardry is Dragonslayer magic, which means he has acquired the power to fight dragons by adopting draconic magic to his own body and adopting his body to draconic magic, in essence becoming a hybrid of human and dragon. As an irreversible part of this process, all of his senses have been enhanced to utterly inhuman levels, allowing him to identify and track people for miles by scent alone, to listen in on conversations a full mile away or through dozens of feet of dirt and stone, and to make out details at long distances or in the dark of night. Add in years of experience hunting both animals and people, and very little escapes his notice. He makes a capable spy and detective both, a skillset further boosted by his particular draconic affinities, which are divided by two major categories.

As an Iron Dragonslayer, Gajeel has partially become living iron himself. He displays resistance to poison due to a literal iron stomach and lungs to match, but the main manifestation of this trait is the ability to turn parts of his body into pure iron and effortlessly reshape them, allowing him to create weapons or tools from his limbs or to coat his entire body in metallic scales. If he feels so inclined, he can also create iron constructs that aren't connected to his body, allowing him to launch projectiles or conjure lasting structures. Objects made from iron can't harm him, although iron alloys such as steel may contain enough non-iron to affect him, if not for his relatively recent discovery that he can combine those same impurities with his own iron to alloy his own body. Most bizarrely, his digestive system has been altered so that he can digest metal, and his teeth and jaw strengthened to be able to tear through iron and even shatter steel. In fact, metal constitutes most of his diet, as he could live on nothing but iron and finds the taste of many high grade metals, particularly the ferrous variety, to be better than anything most humans would consider food. Eating metal is particularly helpful while using his magic, as his body quickly converts it into magical energy, and his own metal changes to match the properties of what he's eaten.

As an Iron Shadow Dragonslayer, Gajeel has eaten the magic of another Dragonslayer, one attuned to darkness, and incorporated it into himself. As a result, he can transform into a being of living shadow and travel anywhere a patch of darkness could, without regard for gravity. While merged with the shadows, his senses are enhanced even further, and he moves impossibly fast, allowing him to outmaneuver otherwise lighter and faster opponents. Likewise, he can condense shadows into a tangible form to pierce, entangle, or engulf solid objects or living beings, while being immune to and able to consume shadow magic from other sources.

All Dragonslayers also possess a breath weapon for each of their elements. Gajeel's takes the form of a massive spray of iron shrapnel or a blast of destructive shadow, and he will combine the two into one devastating cone when circumstances warrant an all-out offense. As he has no way to fine tune the shape of his breath attack, however, using it virtually guarantees collateral damage.

In addition to the enhanced senses and elemental affinities, Gajeel is both stronger and more durable than a mundane human, and can further enhance his abilities by coating himself in iron, shadow, or both. He's skilled at both hand to hand combat and use of a broadsword, as well as stealth tactics that he can make all the more effective by blending into patches of darkness and seeping through any crack wide enough to fit a shadow. Conversely, he is also very, very good at being very, very loud.

Lily:
Comparatively, Lily's abilities are fairly straightforward. While also a wizard, and thus able to sense magic and use it to reinforce his body, he only has two direct applications for it: shifting from his housecat sized form to a size comparable to a large and muscular human, and sprouting wings that enable magical flight. Even in his smaller form, however, it's worth noting that he's far stronger than he looks, able to carry Gajeel in flight with minimal difficulty. Aside from that, he's a trained soldier and highly capable with a sword, able to effectively use one three times his length.
What clothing/items did your character arrive with? (See rules and FAQ for what is allowed, feel free to ask if you are unsure): Gajeel is wearing a metal-trimmed tunic, loose pants, a cloth headband, and numerous metal piercings. At the time, he's also carrying a backpack with a white suit and fedora, along with simple camping supplies and about twenty pounds of scrap iron, and a somewhat tackily ornate acoustic guitar. Lily is wearing baggy pants and the Musica Sword, a magical blade that can change size to suit either of his forms...which, due to the effects of the setting on weapons will be changed into an origami sword of heavy cardstock.

Optional- What do you have to keep in mind when playing this character?:
Gajeel perceives the world in a very different way from ordinary humans, observing his surroundings through scent and sound as much as sight. This not only makes him difficult to hide from, but also gives him insight into others' mental states or health, as he can smell chemical changes such as surges of adrenaline and hear people's heartbeats. It also means that he could well be eavesdropping on conversations occurring several blocks away, meaning he might well be aware of things he was nowhere near.

What mod candy, if any, does your character bring? (Aka what elements would you really like to see us play with?):
Gajeel can't turn his senses down, meaning particularly loud noises or foul smells are far more unpleasant to him...and also meaning he gets extremely motion sick on any kind of vehicle. Good luck getting him on that boat to Auradon, folks. (Oddly, this applies only to *vehicles*, being carried by people or riding an animal doesn't cause problems for him.)

Also, Panther Lily has an extreme fear of thunder, a fact that embarrasses him greatly.

What else do you think the mods should know about your character or their canon?:
The spirit of Fairy Tail is contagious. Friendship is inevitable. You will be assimilated.

Any questions?:
fairyforgedsteel: (I call bullshit.)
Gajeel here has the senses of a dragon, and that means, among other things, he can distinguish scents like a bloodhound. He also has the senses of a mage, meaning he can roughly discern how much magic power (if any) someone has, and if there's anything strange or inhuman about it - though, that last part may be confused by different magic systems coming into play.

Basically, here is a place to let me know if your character smells like anything in particular on a regular basis, along with if they have magic power and if that magic power would be remarkable based on magical energy alone.
